It was a fantastic start to Football NSW’s Southern Regional Roadshow as Monday saw the start of what will be a brilliant five-day promotion of the world game to the Southern Highlands.

The Hill Top Public School played host to the first venue of the Roadshow which saw Football NSW’s Female Football Development Department’s Renee Rollason and Servet Uzunlar along with Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez put an incredible 190 students through various football activities and games.

“Hill Top Public School was absolutely buzzing,” said an enthusiastic Rollason.

“All the kids were really well engaged and had a go at every activity we put on.

“I am really pleased to be able to provide further education with such a fantastic clinic which kick started the Football NSW Southern Roadshow on the right foot.”

During the course of the day both Rollason and Uzunlar provided a free AIA Vitality MiniRoos Clinic for players with the aim of helping all 51 coaches that attended on how to better conduct sessions for young aspiring footballers.

“It was an amazing experience to provide a hands on session for the local coaches to witness first hand.

“Being able to address their questions as well as helping them in their coaching methods was extremely rewarding and satisfying,” echoed a delighted Uzunlar.

Along with these various activities that took shape on Monday, Gonzalez attended the Moss Vale venue and conducted a Skill Acquisition session for 24 young footballers from the Highland Football Association as well as their coaches.

Gonzalez put the players through a National Curriculum Skill Acquisition session focusing on 1 v 1 attacking defending drills.

Nick D’Amore, the Technical Director for the Highlands Football Association, also assisted with the planning and scheduling of the day and was extremely happy with the result and stated his intent in building on from these successful seminars.

Tuesday will see the Roadshow arrive in the Shoalhaven Football Association with more school visits, coaching and player clinics the order of the day.
