Round seven offers a smorgasbord of fixtures to feast upon highlighted by APIA Leichhardt Tigers hosting SD Raiders in our Match of the Round.

UNSW Lions vs St George FC, Sunday 22nd May 2016, David Phillips Field, 3pm

Renato Jalen’s Lions have been in irresistible form the last month as they rocket into 2nd position. This week they host fifth placed St George FC.

Georgia Goulding has been the form player of the competition and her combination with striker Rachelle Godman is key to their potential title charge.

Their recent output in attack may make for a busy day for Saints keeper Stephanie Lara and her back four.

Renee Mansour has been the super sub for St George FC rescuing points for them and if the game is close headed into the final fifteen minutes it gives coach Carlo Tini an extra option.

Western NSW Mariners FC vs Gladesville Ravens, Sunday 22nd May 2016, Glenwillow Stadium, 3pm

Gladesville Ravens are in a positive place as they take the long trip to Mudgee for their hardest task of the season.

Back to back victories has seen the Ravens soar into sixth position despite some injuries. They face a stubborn Western NSW Mariners side with the stingiest defense in the league.

The Mariners will want to build on their recent form and get Samantha Wood more involved on the scoresheet.

The home team has to content with Ravens winger Isabella Breukelaar after her star turn against Mt Druitt in a battle of the teams aiming to keep pace with the top two.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers vs Parramatta FC, Sunday 22nd May 2016, Popondetta Park, 3pm

Mt Druitt battled hard in a 4-3 loss at Peel Park which was deflating so they head home looking to secure their first points of the season.

Likewise Parramatta FC has endured a terrible month of results but a positive result this weekend could kickstart their season.

Town Rangers coach Danny Abboud has preached patience as his side continue to gel and three points will go a long way to speeding up this process.

Both teams are desperate to get themselves off the bottom of the ladder which makes for a exciting contest this Sunday.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers vs SD Raiders, Sunday 22nd May 2016, Lambert Park, 7pm

Our match of the round sees the first placed SD Raiders travel into Lambert Park for a powerhouse fixture.

APIA coach Matteo Maiorana lamented the lack of clinical edge to their attack as they dropped two points at St George FC.

He will have top scorer Dana Buttigieg and strike partner Christina Ferreyra doing extra finishing practice to prepare for a well drilled SD Raiders side.

SD Raiders are flying high after they collected four points and 9 goals last week and the comeback wizards look to extend their lead at the top.

These two teams have the top three scorers in the State League Women’s competition which lends to a high tempo contest to light up Lambert Park.
