Blockbuster Month of Futsal Schools Championships

May has seen record numbers attending the traditional powerhouse regions of Sutherland, Campbelltown and Bankstown in the 2016 Football NSW Futsal Schools Championships.
Over 440 teams have registered to participate in the three competitions with Sutherland hosting a whopping 160 teams over 4 days at Menai Indoor Sports Centre.
Australian Futsalroos captain, and Futsal coach of Mamre Anglican School, Greg Giovenali is encouraged by the numbers.
“It’s excellent to see such an incredibly high number of young players playing futsal in New South Wales.
“This will hopefully spark a longer term interest in playing the game and create future generations of Futsalroos in our quest to qualify for FIFA Futsal World Cups.”
June sees the final two regional competitions for the championships at Central Coast and Dural before the showcase event of the 2016 Football NSW Futsal Schools State Championships at Penrith.
