FNSW squads selected for National Youth Championships

Football NSW has announced the squads for the Under 13 and Under 15 Metropolitan and Country State Teams for the National Youth Championships for Girls to be played in Coffs Harbour from the 4th of July till the 8th at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

NSW Country

The NSW Country girls have already participated in two selection camps and recently played a match in Canberra against Capital Football.

The Under 13 and Under 15 Country girls will have one more camp in preparation for the National Youth Championships.

Head Coach Glen Stedman was eagerly anticipating what this tournament would bring for his squad.

“Concentration is major key throughout this major tournament.

“We want to take things a minute, a half and a game at a time to ensure we achieve the best possible outcomes in what will be a fantastic experience for all players and coaches.”

NSW Metropolitan

The NSW Metropolitan girls began trials early May.

Trials were conducted over a two-week period until the final squads were selected.

The Under 13 and Under 15 Metropolitan girls will continue training over the next 5 weeks in preparation for the National Youth Championships.

Head Coach Matt Turvey understands the important role the National Youth Championships play in the development of the players.

“Representing the NSW State Team gives the Girls an ideal opportunity to showcase their individual talent within a team environment.

"I know every player is ready to go in what will be a memorable tournament held at a quality facility.
