Football NSW hosted a special Futsal event for six Special Needs Football Programs that also included the Southwest Football Foundation Trust – Sunshine Football teams from New Zealand last Sunday at Valentine Sports Park’s Indoor Centre.

As many as 82 players participated in this magical event with clubs from the Kings Langley Open Goals Special Needs Program, Macarthur Magic Special Needs Football Club, Mt Druitt Town Rangers AWD Futsal, Nepean Soccer Dragons, SNAPP A ROOS as well as the Southwest Football Foundation Trust all taking part.

In what was seen as a first for the Special Needs Programs in NSW, the participants from New Zealand really enjoyed the experience and relished the opportunity taking to the field alongside the various Sydney Special Needs Programs as well as having the chance to mingle with the players.

Whilst the weather outside may have been dark and gloomy, the atmosphere in the Futsal Court was electric with enthusiasm, sportsmanship and friendship.

The enjoyment beamed on the faces of the players, team officials and spectators alike was priceless.

Football NSW CEO Eddie Moore was delighted with the turnout and was appreciative of the hard work and efforts everybody put in on the day.
“It was great to see so many happy and smiling faces even though the weather outside was pretty dreary.
“It was a fantastic day and I am glad all participants from each of the Special Needs Program clubs enjoyed themselves.
“I want to acknowledge not just the stars of the show, the players, but the Club Coordinators who worked tirelessly in providing opportunities for these amazing players and their families.

“We cannot wait for Football NSW to host the Football4all Gala Day to be held on Sunday 3rd of July."
