The State League Women’s action continues to heat up as we enter the home stretch with the race for top four places starting to tighten up.

Western NSW Mariners vs SD Raiders, Sunday 3rd July, 1pm, Proctor Park

First and second come together for a top of the table clash in the early kick-off at Bathurst.

Western NSW Mariners come into the weekend with four straight victories and the tightest defense in the league.

Added to that they have Jess Salomoni and Katie Pakai-Kelly banging in goals to be right up there as a contender this season.

SD Raiders will provide a stern test of the Mariners credentials after Caterina Moio’s hat-trick kept them top which makes for a mouth watering clash.

UNSW Lions vs Parramatta FC, Sunday 3rd July 3pm, David Phillips Field

UNSW had their momentum halted against APIA last week and but have the best fixture as they look to get back into the win column.

It was an off night for their much vaunted attack and coach Renato Jelen hopes they will be back on form against the 8th placed Parramatta side struggling for confidence.

Lions midfielder Georgia Goulding and striker Rachelle Godman look to stretch their lead in the scoring charts and boost their considerable goal difference.

Despite their lowly position the visitors can stifle teams and create chances for Yadira Renfigo to convert if they are complacent.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers vs Gladesville Ravens, Sunday 3rd July, 3pm, Popondetta Park,

Gladesville aim to build on their large victory last week as they travel to Popondetta Park full of confidence against Mt Druitt.

They possess threats across the park included Eleanor Jones who bagged four goals and the ever dangerous Isabella Breukelaar.

Ravens coach John Cook hopes that Isabelle Hatton new role in midfield helps continues her form after a hat-trick of goals and assists last week.

Town Rangers coach Danny Abboud urged his team to minimise their errors after the SD Raiders loss if they want to get something out of the contest this weekend.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers vs St George FC, Sunday 3rd July, 7pm, Lambert Park

APIA consolidated their top four position last weekend and host St George FC Sunday night with the possibility of jumping into first.

New signing Claire Munro gelled with her new APIA team mates quickly scoring in their impressive win over a good UNSW outfit.

She provides another option for the Tigers alongside Dana Buttigieg and Christina Ferreyra up front which might make it a long night for Saints keeper Stephanie Lara.

St George FC have been inconsistent this season and as we head into the final stretch need to turn it around if they want to play finals football starting with a tough clash under lights.
