Football NSW conducted an insightful and educational Level 4 Referees Course held in Nepean on Thursday evening with the region continuing its development of future officials.

Football NSW Referees Manager Kris Griffiths-Jones played a major role in the running of the course and paid tribute to the hard work and efforts Nepean Referees Group Manager Graham Chapman has done in promoting more referees in the area.

“It was great to conduct the Level 4 course held in the Nepean region.

“It’s been a fantastic journey seeing the growth of referee numbers increase to over 250 fully qualified match officials in 2016 from just over 100 referees 3 years ago.

“This growth has enabled the Nepean Referees Group to achieve 100% coverage rates which is one of the highest across Football NSW.

“Graham Chapman has done a wonderful job in promoting refereeing in the area and with his continued support I’m looking forward in seeing the region develop even further.”

Chapman equally was appreciative of the hard work and efforts Football NSW delivered through its continual promotion of referees within the Nepean area.

“I just wanted to personally thank Kris Griffiths-Jones for attending and running our Level 4 referees course.

“It’s great that young referees can attend a course that is run by the head of Football NSW referees and equally a Hyundai-A league referee.

“Kris certainly inspired the referees which has resulted in all of the referees attending either registering or texting and advising of their intent to register.

“Nepean Referees Group continues to grow and part of that growth is our commitment to run referees courses throughout the season and your attendance last night in the absence of our branch coach allowed us to continue that growth.
