It will be a busy schedule for all Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) clubs as they prepare for two upcoming weekends in late July (30th – 31st) and mid-August (13th – 14th) to participate in Football NSW’s annual Gala Days at Valentine Sports Park.

Renowned for being a celebration for players, coaches and parents alike, these Gala Days give everyone a chance to see players showcase their talents in a safe and fun environment with the freedom to play without sideline commentary or coaching.

Valentine Sports Park, official headquarters of Football NSW, will once again host the event with 2016 being a monumental year which has seen an increase in the number of SAP licensees as well as the addition of the U12 age group and also the inclusion of the U10 and U12 Girls programs.

July’s SAP Gala Day will feature the U9 and U10 SAP clubs along with the U10 Girls SAP take centre stage with the likes of teams from Griffith Football, Canberra United and the Emerging Jets joining in on the football festivities.

While on the 13th and 14th of August, the U11 and U12 SAP clubs along with the U12 Girls SAP will also take the field to display their abilities.

Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin was looking forward to the important upcoming dates with SAP playing an integral role in the development of players within NSW.

“SAP is totally committed to a development focus and the creation of the best possible learning environment in youth Football.

“Gala days are a great opportunity for many to see the wide scope of teams and players from many areas of FNSW coming together to play and these next two dates will showcase just that.”

SAP is the official Football NSW development program for players with the Gala Day providing teams with the opportunity to play against others from outside their regular zones.

It will also provide Football NSW with an additional opportunity to assess programs beyond those being assessed by the State Technical Director at regular match days.

Developed by the Football NSW Technical Department, SAP provides a structured best practice learning environment, consistent with the FFA National Curriculum, to support development of the State’s aspiring young footballers.
