Former Hyundai A-League player Dean Heffernan, once voted onto 4-4-2’s Dream Team and having stints playing in the German Bundesliga was a busy man as he assisted in a special Skill Training Certificate that took shape at the Central Coast last week.

Now working for Central Coast Football Association as the Coaching and Development Manager, Heffernan and Football NSW’s Coach Education Manager, Oscar Gonzalez joined forces to deliver a Skill Training Certificate course to 30 excited and very motivated local coaches.

“We are very lucky on the Central Coast to have people like the ones I met over the last month at the recent Skill training course. All very passionate about football and eager to learn more as coaches to help our up and coming footballers of the Coast.” Said Heffernan

Conducted on some very cold nights which would have had many people choose to choose to home for the night, Heffernan was impressed by both their dedication and willingness to improve.

“The difference in the sessions presented by the coaches on the first day compared to the last was great and as the Coach Development Manager for Central Coast football it is nice to know our future players are in safe hands.”

Gonzalez confirmed Heffernan is making big inroads.

“Heff is such an icon on the Coast and for the local coaches to have him as their Presenter was great for them.  I can only commend him at working at his new chosen craft of Coach Education to ensure that his students gain the most of every course experience.”
