Futsal Course success at Football NSW
Football NSW hosted a month of Futsal courses with Certificate courses being offered each week to meet the high demand of competitions and general interest.
The courses which are conducted in a very practical and interactive environment have been well received by Futsal enthusiasts.
David Plowright, one of the presenters during the course and Football NSW’s Development Officer for Futsal was delighted with the turn out and was enthusiastic about the quality each participant put forward.
“It is incredibly encouraging to see such unprecedented high demand for futsal coaching courses in New South Wales.
“The quality of participants has been exceptional with a real desire to learn, question and challenge themselves on their first step of the futsal coaching pathway.
“These new coaches could potentially be the first contact for many future Futsalroos and will further strengthen the futsal landscape within Australia.”
Equally as impressed was FIFA Futsal Referee Adrian Tamplin.
“Having Refereed at the highest level in World Futsal, the opportunity to get an insight into Futsal Player Coaching with Football NSW Coach Education Team led by David Plowright and Oscar Gonzalez was an opportunity not to miss.
“The level of enthusiasm and knowledge displayed allowed me to understand the importance of qualified instructors to help the participants work through the coaching drills and therefore educate the next generation of Futsal players.
“Futsal is a growing sport and can be an enjoyable experience, learning how to pass, trap and kick the ball correctly in a small pitch therefore adds enjoyment to every match you play.”
The 3-hour course is aimed at Coaches who are working with junior players up to the age of 13.
During this course, parts of the sessions are seen dealing with the fundamentals of Futsal together with other information on simple formations of play.
The course is non-assessed and all practical, allowing the candidate to get involved in the actual training sessions should they wish to.
The course also encourages involving group discussion aimed at sharing experiences and knowledge.
The course is a precursor before attending the Licence course.
