Multi Sports Day for Students with Disabilities
Over 200 students from 13 Schools attended the Multi Sport Day at Penrith Sports and Basketball Stadium conducted by the Office of Sport and Recreation and their School Sport Unit.
Students, teachers and carers had the opportunity to partake in 10 different sports across the venue.
It was no surprise in the heartland of Western Sydney that football was a popular choice for participants.
Football NSW Member Services Manager, Matt Rippon and Game Development Officer, Demelza Howard took the opportunity to promote the sport and its Football4All programs to the participants looking ahead to 2017 as programs and participation numbers again look set to grow.
Howard was delighted with the promotion the day received.
“It was a fantastic day with numerous students excited to participate in football.
“Plenty of goals were scored with high fives and smiles present throughout the day.”
Football NSW will again have a presence with upcoming Multi Sport Days in Lennox Head and Wollongong as well as the Wheelchair NSW Expo at Barangaroo on September 11 and 12.
