Futsal season kicks off this weekend
This weekend will feature round 1 matches from the SELECT Futsal Premier League 2, Futsal State League, AWD Futsal League and AWD Futsal League 2 as the new 2016-17 season is ready for take-off.
The Futsal Premier League 2 and Futsal State League Competitions will all feature eight (8) Clubs playing in home and away matches during the 2016/17 Futsal season.
Each Club will field teams in nine age groups – 12 Boys, 13 Girls, 14 Boys, 15 Girls, 16 Boys, 17 Girls, Youth Men, Open Women, Open Men.
Football NSW Head of Competitions Troy McColl stated that each clubs have been busily preparing for the new year with a number of new faces taking shape at their respective clubs.
“There was a fair bit of player movement during the off-season and from all reports this year will be one of the biggest seasons yet for all our competitions across each age groups.
“I want to thank SELECT for their support as they will be our naming sponsor for the Futsal Premier League and Premier League 2 season.
“The game has gone from strength to strength and we at Football NSW have continuously worked at developing the sport and improving it across all levels.
“We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the important role Futsal Clubs play in providing development opportunities for the State’s talented players and wish all Clubs the best of luck in the commencement of the 2016/17 Futsal season.”
