Clubs announced for new Hills Football

Football NSW is pleased to advise that it has approved 19 clubs to be the founding members of the recently created Hills Football Incorporated (Hills Football).

The 19 clubs are:

  • Castle Hill RSL
  • Rockets FC
  • Castle Hill United Football Club
  • Coptic United Football Club
  • Glenhaven Football Club
  • Hills Knights Football Club
  • Hills Spirit FC 
  • Hills United Football Club
  • Kellyville Soccer Club
  • Kellyville United Football Club
  • Kenthurst & District Football Club
  • North Rocks Soccer Club
  • Norwest Soccer  
  • Rouse Hill Rams
  • Rouse Hill Rangers Football Club
  • St Bernadettes Football Club
  • Sydney North West Football Club
  • The Hills Grammar School Football Club
  • Winston Hills Football Club

In considering the 21 applications from clubs, the Board of Football NSW rejected applications from Toongabbie FC and AFC Box Hill. Football NSW has decided that Toongabbie FC remain in the Granville and Districts Soccer Football Association and has requested that AFC Box Hill provide further information concerning its governance structure and the venues at which it will train and play its home matches before it will be given further consideration.
The interim Board of Hills Football on Friday confirmed the decision of the Football NSW Board and admitted the 19 abovementioned club as members. Friday’s announcement is in line with previous promoted milestones that have been developed over the many months of meetings and presentations with interested organizations and clubs.
The 19 clubs now have the opportunity to nominate suitably qualified individuals to be considered for election to the Board of Hills Football. Nominations for Directors will close at 5.00 pm on Friday, 21 October 2016 in preparation for the Annual General Meeting of Hills Football on Thursday 1 December 2016.
Eddie Moore, Chief Executive of Football NSW lauded today’s announcement as a significant milestone in reuniting everyone under the one organisation.
"I commend everyone involved in coming together and aligning ourselves for the greater good of the game."
"This decision will effectively mean that some 11,000 players in the Hills region will play in local, sanctioned competitions governed by a newly constituted Board".
Football NSW will now work with the 19 clubs to conduct a series of meetings and workshops over the next month with the view to progressing matters of a competition and operational nature. Furthermore, it will continue to work with Hills Football and neighboring associations to consider special initiatives including cross-border opportunities to provide premier football competitions for specific population groups such as girls and women.
Registrations for interested players for Hills Football will commence early in the new year in readiness of season 2017.
