Australian Celebrities Embark on Celebrity Match
Indigenous Sporting Icons, Footballing Legends, Indigenous Leaders and Celebrities will embark on Nowra this weekend.
The epic sporting event will take place, Saturday 5th November 2016 at the Shoalhaven Sporting Complex, Nowra and will be broadcasted on NITV/SBS and covered by Fox Sports.
"Nowra will play host to some of the best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander football players across the nation" said Jamie Warren, President Johnny Warren Football Foundation.
Warren said “We are very honored and proud to work with the Wreck Bay Sharks FC and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander football communities and thank Bernie McLeod and his team for the opportunity".

Two star-studded squads of footballing legends and high-profile celebrities will compete in an electrifying football match all in aid of raising the profile of Indigenous sport and saying no to racism.
This will be the first Celebrity Football Match ever staged with a central focus of uniting as one to promote and disseminate key messages to the wider community.
The event expects to draw a large crowd with celebrities kindly giving up their time to support this historical event.

"The Inaugural National Indigenous Football Championships will for the first time select an Australian Indigenous Football Women’s and Men’s Team to tour internationally" said Bernie McLeod, Tournament Director.
The Championship Selectors will consist of:

Alex Tobin (Former Socceroo)
Julie Dolan (Former Matilda)
Jim Fraser (Former Socceroo)
"The technical footballing selection panel will be there on hand to identify some of Australian Indigenous Footballing best and hope to unearth Indigenous stars of the future" said Warren
Coinciding with selection of Australian Indigenous Football Team the event will announce the Kyah Simon (Female Player of the Championships) and Jade North Award (Male Player of the Championships).
The Inaugural National Indigenous Football Championships hosts (5) tiers:
· 16 open age woman teams competing for the National title.
· 16 x open age men teams competing for the National title.
· Johnny Warren Celebrity Game including: Aboriginal sporting role models, former Matilda and Socceroo’s players.
· AIA Vitality Miniroos kids training and coaching clinics.
· People with a disability football clinic.
· NIFC Gala Dinner and National Team announcement.
