Football NSW have today appointed Stefan Kamasz, as acting chief executive officer for an interim period.

Stefan’s appointment follows the resignation of Eddie Moore as chief executive officer earlier this week.

Eddie, who had been with Football NSW since 2011, has decided to pursue other opportunities.

Football NSW would like to thank Eddie for his time and efforts with Australia’s largest Member Federation during the last five years and wish him the best in his future endeavours.

Football NSW welcomes Stefan Kamasz and the wealth of experience, knowledge and respect he brings with him, as Football NSW continues to reinforce its focus on strengthening engagement with members, governance and management in line with the continued exceptional growth of football in NSW.

In 2014, Stefan was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame for his service as an astute administrator for a period spanning over four decades.

During that time, he has held the most senior responsibilities in the game, including – but not limited to:

• Senior executive State Federations (including Northern NSW and NSW)

• Team Manager of Australian National Team (Socceroos)

• General Manager National Soccer League

• General Manager Sydney Olympic SC

• Acting Chief Executive Officer Soccer Australia

• As a key driver in the design, strategy and establishment of the Hyundai A-League

• Chief Executive Officer Johnny Warren Foundation

• Chief Executive Officer Sydney FC

In the coming weeks, Football NSW will begin the process of seeking to fill the position of chief executive officer, with the role to also be advertised, and hope to conclude that decision before the end of the first half of 2017.
