Sydney United 58 have moved swiftly in appointing a familiar face, Mark Rudan, as its first grade coach for the remainder of the 2017 PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s season.

Rudan spent four years with the former NSL giants before deciding to leave on a winning note when Sydney United 58 took out the PS4 NPL Finals Series after defeating Northern NSW’s Edgeworth Eagles crowning them State League Champions of Australia.

The former no nonsense defender was no secret to collecting silverware at his junior club which saw him lift two PS4 NPL Finals Series Championships, 2 PS4 NPL NSW Men’s Premierships, 2 Waratah Cups, 1 Pre-season Cup as well as guiding Sydney United 58 to four Westfield FFA Cup qualifications.

Rudan moved on to the Young Socceroos setup where he was the assistant coach to Ufuk Talay after his time with the Reds.

The club hired former youth coach Davor Basjic as head coach for the 2017 season but indifferent results saw him replaced by assistant coaches Jerry Bilokapic and Tomi Vidovic which saw the pair grab the club’s first victory of the season in their 2-1 round 4 clash against the Sutherland Sharks.

Seen as a temporary move, the club moved quickly to appoint Rudan this week, whose first task is to guide the team this Sunday when they take on the winless Bonnyrigg White Eagles at Sydney United Sports Centre.
