Round 9 of the Women’s State league again serves up some fascinating fixtures as top of the table APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC travel to in form UNSW while Western NSW Mariners FC host SD Raiders FC and Parramatta FC welcome Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC.

UNSW vs APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC, Sunday June 4th 3pm, David Phillips Complex

In what shapes as an intriguing contest in form UNSW play host to APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC.

Top of the table APIA come off a hard-fought win last start against Western NSW Mariners FC and will again be in for a tough afternoon against third placed UNSW.

UNSW will know they need to be tighter in defence than last week when they leaked 4 against Mt Druitt in a highly entertaining draw.

UNSW coach Renato Jelen will be aware a win for his team will pull them within three points of the leaders.

The reality though is that UNSW will need to put in one of their best performances of the year if they are going to topple APIA. APIA coach Matteo Maiorana though will have his team ready for a tough battle and will be aware of the threats that UNSW  pose.

Western NSW Mariners FC vs SD Raiders FC ,Sunday June 4th 3pm, Proctor Park

Western NSW Mariners FC will be looking to bounce back from a last start defeat to APIA while SD Raiders FC are searching for their first win in two weeks after a couple of disappointing results.

The Mariners will be conscious of the importance of three points and will see this as an opportunity to take points from one of the competition favourites.

SD Raiders on the other hand will be keen to get their season back on track and coach Catherine Cannuli will be eager for a positive performance from her team.

Mariners coach Jason Payne will know it is crucial for his tem to maximise home advantage if they are to make a semi-final push and will be encouraged by his teams effort against APIA. This game promises to be a highly competitive and close contest as the three points for both teams are important to keep each side’s season on track.

Parramatta FC vs Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC, Sunday June 4th 4.30pm,Melita Stadium

In the late kick off Parramatta FC play host to Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC with the hosts entering he game in a more upbeat mood after claiming their first point of the season against SD Raiders in their last game. Mt Druitt similarly enter the game after a highly entertaining draw against UNSW wherein they were unlucky not to grab all three points.

The last time these two clubs met Mt Druitt ran out convincing winners but Mt Druitt coach Danny Abboud will be priming his team for a tough game against an improving Parramatta. Parramatta will see this as an opportunity to continue on from their first point of the season and begin the second half of the season on the right note and with a positive performance.
