Hopefully the rain has left as we kick back into gear for Round 10 of the PS4 NPL 2 NSW Women’s competition with four enticing match-ups to enjoy.

Inter Lions vs Sydney Olympic FC, Sunday 18th June, 3pm, Concord Oval

Second place Sydney Olympic FC head out to Concord Oval to take on a desperate Inter Lions side on Sunday afternoon.

In a rescheduled game earlier this month Sydney Olympic FC were 2-1 winners with Danielle Calvi scoring the winner after Lily Chen’s opener was cancelled out by Taylor Mikaelian for Inter Lions.

Sydney Olympic FC are riding a four game unbeaten streak as coach George Beltsos has his ladies primed for a chase at top spot.

They currently trail Sutherland Shire FA by two points and could leap them with a win this weekend.

It is becoming crunch time for Inter Lions as they sit four points out of the finals places. They will look to captain Maria Kalogeropoulos to possibly take a big scalp at home this weekend.

Gladesville Ravens vs Sutherland Shire FA, Sunday 18th June, 3pm, Peel Park

Top takes on bottom as Gladesville Ravens look to keep touch with the rest of the competition when they host Sutherland Shire FA at Peel Park.

As the fixtures reset due to heading into the second half of the competition, this is the second time these two have met this season. In their first meeting Sutherland Shire FA ran out 3-1 winners at home.

Sutherland Shire FA are firing on all cylinders headed into the business end of the season with the best attack scoring 22 goals thus far this season and top of the top five marksmen in the league in Jordan Baker and Danielle Wise.

Life has been tough for Gladesville Ravens in PS4 NPL 2 NSW Women’s but coach Jose De Costa has remained positive with a young side that works hard that results will come and no better way to start than a victory over first place.

Southern Branch FC vs Marconi Stallions, Sunday 18th June, 3pm, South Nowra Football Complex

Southern Branch FC welcome Marconi Stallions to the south coast in a match between two sides that need a victory.

The home side put some space between themselves and bottom Gladesville Ravens with their draw at home last weekend as Marconi were amongst the majority that couldn’t get on the pitch last weekend.

Georgia McDonnell has been a revelation for Southern Branch FC in the last few weeks with some vitals goals that has lifted her to third in the goal-scoring charts and someone the Stallions will need to wary of.

A quirk in the scheduling had these two play earlier this week at Valentine Sports Park which Marconi took 4-nil so Southern Branch FC will look to square the ledger on Sunday.

Match of the Round: Nepean FC vs Bankstown City Lions, Sunday 18th June, 3pm, Cook Park

Third takes on fourth in the Match of the Round as Nepean FC host Bankstown City as both search to solidify their position in the top four.

Bankstown City Lions played the sole game last weekend in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Southern Branch FC while Nepean FC were victims of the rain.

These two sides met back in round one where Nepean FC produced a superb comeback to win 2-1 and the home side hasn’t looked back since – with three more victories in the first half of the season.

For the visitors they started inconsistent but coach Troy Spink seems to have found a rhythm for his side, as despite the draw have built some impressive results helped by Tania Baban’s recent goal form.

All these ingredients make for a engrossing match of the round between the best defense and one of the best attacks Sunday afternoon.
