Nations of Origin Football Fives Tournament 2017

The 2017 Nations of Origin Football Fives Under 14’s tournament will take place next week on the 13th July at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility at Speers Point.

The tournament run as part of NAIDOC week national celebrations is designed at promoting reconciliation among communities, increasing education and cultural identity through Sport.

The Nations of Origin tournament which begun in 2012 has grown tremendously over the past few years with it being the largest Aboriginal Youth Sport event in NSW with Football, Rugby and Netball all taking part.

NAIDOC Week 2017 is celebrating the unique role that indigenous languages play in cultural identity and in the transmission of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history through story and song as part of this year’s theme.

Today there around 120 indigenous languages spoken across Australia.

Football Fives Under 14’s Competition

Date: Thursday 13th July

Venue: Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility (13 Park Road, Speers Point)

Time: 8:00am – 3:30pm
