In what shapes as a crucial round for many teams and each of their 2017 aspirations of a top 4 finish, round 13 of the Women’s State League features UNSW hosting St George FC while Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC welcome Western NSW Mariners FC and Parramatta face the daunting trip of taking on the undefeated APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC at Lambert Park.

UNSW vs St George FC Sunday July 1st 3pm, David Phillips Complex

In what shapes as a crucial clash for both UNSW and St George FC in their top four pursuits both teams will come into the contest full of confidence after both recorded wins in their last start.

UNSW had an easy win over Parramatta FC and will know they will be in for a much tougher test against a St George team who took all three points against a tough Western NSW Mariners FC last round.

Currently UNSW are sitting fourth but will be aware that St George sit just one place and two points behind them. These teams bring good form into the game and will both look to push forward and create chances which should make for an entertaining and open game.

St George coach Carlo Tini will be conscious of the importance of his team maintaining their good form against another top four rival, while UNSW coach Renato Jelen will know the clash against St George will certainly test his team’s top four credentials as UNSW look to solidify themselves within the four.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC vs Western NSW Mariners FC Sunday July 1st 3pm, Popondetta Park

Mt Druitt will be glad to return home after a tough loss against SD Raiders FC last week.

Mt Druitt will know the importance of three points as they look to keep in touch with the teams above them. This though will not be easy against a Western NSW Mariners FC team who themselves are coming off a disappointing loss against St George FC.

This game presents an opportunity for both teams to return to the winners circle and continue their push for a top four finish.

Mt Druitt find themselves outside of the four at this stage but will see a return to home as a perfect opportunity to put themselves back into the mix. The Mariners will be looking to continue their recent winning form discounting last week’s loss as they look to maintain their position within the top three.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC vs Parramatta FC Sunday July 1st 7pm, Lambert Park

In the late game, Parramatta FC make the difficult trip out to face APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC who find themselves undefeated and top of the table.

APIA are coming off the bye so should be refreshed and raring to go while Parramatta in contrast are coming off another heavy defeat this time to UNSW where they shipped seventeen goals.

APIA will see this as the perfect opportunity to maintain their lead at the top and continue their undefeated run. Parramatta on the other hand will be hoping to be competitive and be more resolute at the back. This though will be difficult against a free-flowing APIA team which contains so many dangerous weapons.

APIA coach Matteo Maiorana will be aware his team go into this contest as heavy favourites but will also be wanting his team to maintain the high standards they have set during the year and continue the momentum they have created.
