Football NSW recently took part in activating a special ALDI MiniRoos shooting target in lieu of supporting the National Aborigines and Islanders Day festivities at Hyde Park on Monday 3rd of July.

The annual NAIDOC event, hosted by the city of Sydney, has become a well-loved event during NADIOC week, celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people.

As many as 5000 people passed through Hyde Park whereby the ALDI MiniRoos shooting target was one of the hits of the festival as hundreds of kids lined up to fire shots at the target while families grabbed tasty snacks underneath the ALDI MiniRoos food stall.

NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920?s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians.

Football NSW would like to thank NAIDOC for inviting us on the day with a helping hand from FFA and would like to also commend staff from FC 11 for their efforts in managing the activation.
