Coaching Women’s Workshop at Moss Vale

A special coaching women’s workshop with a twist took shape at the Moss Vale Soccer Club recently as the Highlands Soccer Association teamed up with Football NSW Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez in delivering the clinic.

The evening showcased coaches and local players from the Moss Vale Soccer Club took part in a flipped training session. Players were asked to come up with a football problem and then design what the session may look like. Gonzalez then worked with the players to adapt the session as well as finding some learning objectives that involved each participant.

Highland Soccer Association Technical Directory Nick D’Amore praised the session that urged participants to think outside the box.

“This was a great opportunity for local coaches and players to be engaged in looking at a different way of linking their training sessions with match days.

“Players and coaches gave some great feedback and thanked Oscar for sharing his knowledge”.

This past week the Highlands Soccer Association hosted Community Coach Education Manager, Oscar Gonzalez as he delivered a workshop aimed specifically at coaches of Womens Football.

The evening was pelted with heavy and cold conditions at the Moss Vale football fields but this did not deter the players and coaches that arrived for the session.

Over 20 people made up of players and coaches from the area

D’Amore added, “Having Jim Fraser and Oscar Gonzalez come to the Highlands to deliver a Goalkeeper Course was a great assistance for moving forward the Coach Education programs.

“Goalkeeper education is very important in player development and having Jim and Oscar share their knowledge will only benefit all of those involved”.
