Football NSW is pleased to advise that Football NSW’s Head of Member Services, Community Football and Game Development Peter Hugg has been elected to the Board of Sport NSW at its recent Annual General Meeting.

Sport NSW is a not for profit industry body for sport in the state representing NSW sporting organisations as ‘The Voice of Sport’.

Established in 1991, its objective is to raise and respond to issues that impact on all levels of sport and to foster the future development of sport in New South Wales.

Football NSW CEO Stuart Hodge congratulated Hugg’s appointment and saw this is a great win with football having a voice within Sport NSW.

“I’d like to congratulate Peter on his recent appointment to the Board of Sport NSW where I am sure he will offer his professional advice in the various challenges that take place across all codes in the state.

“It is great to have such representation at that level and I am sure Peter will be an asset in ensuing that Sport NSW’s mission is met.”

Addressing members prior to the election, Hugg reflected on his time in Western Australia with Football West and consulting overseas. Hugg also highlighted the need for all sports to be aligned in the lead up to the March 2019 state election, the requirement to maintain ongoing dialogue with the Office of Sport on projects like the Active Kids program and the unity of purpose required to address key challenges such as access to facilities, declining active green space, organisational capacity and capability and dwindling volunteer numbers.
