Wednesday 1st of November marked the first ever Indigenous ALDI MiniRoos Kick-off Program to kick of the 2017 National Indigenous Football Championships held at Ison Park, Nowra.

The program saw over 100 students from schools nearby including Nowra Public School, St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Nowra East Public School, Jervis Bay Public School, Culburra Public School. Students put their skills to the test in the morning with six different stations where players performed and learnt new skills while the day finished off with small sided games.

Football NSW AlDI MiniRoos Development Officer Zac Riberio was pleased with how well the day ran.

“Football is all about bringing people together to enjoy the world game and today showed exactly that.

“The ALDI MiniRoos kick off program was suitable for all participants and a great place for children who are new to the game to build their confidence and make new friends all whilst playing football.

“I look forward to coming back next year with more players joining the fantastic program.”

Football NSW would like to thank the local schools,  Shoalhaven District Football Association and Wreck Bay Football Club for all their efforts in helping putting the day together.
