Future referees selected for Football NSW Academy
Twenty-one young referees have been selected to join the Football NSW Referees Academy for 2018.
The Academy was established in 2016 to prepare referees for success at national tournaments and identification by FFA as future W-League, A-League and National Youth League referees.
The Academy has proven to be an integral part of the pathway to elite level refereeing in Australia with past graduates Maggie Price and Anastasia Filacouridis both selected for the W-League.
Referees selected to be involved in the program for 2018 have already begun their training, undergoing fitness tests and training sessions in order to be ready for the football season ahead.
Throughout the season, the Academy referees will undergo speed and agility training, technical sessions and fitness testing.
Alongside this, the referees will have access to physiotherapists, national and international referee coaches and mentors from both the W-League and A-League.
