Summer Football continues to kick goals with Northern Beaches side Pittwater RSL FC continuing on with the trend by promoting the world game all year round in the Manly Warringah Football Association.

Football NSW Development Officer Lauren Moore recently visited the precinct and caught up with Pittwater RSL FC President Valentino Surjan who was happy with how Summer Football has evolved at the club.

“It was great seeing the progress Pittwater RSL FC has made throughout their three seasons having been affiliated with Football NSW.

“Some great news coming out of the club is that they are hoping to have their official ground turfed as synthetic which will further benefit operations at Pittwater RSL FC.”

Surjan stated his love for the game was one of the main reasons why he wanted to start up a Summer Football competition within the Northern Beaches area.

“I do this for the love of the game, it’s one of my passions and I get great enjoyment in seeing teams participate playing football.

“We are still small but slowly expanding.

“We currently have 200 players registered but nevertheless our competition is purely about having fun and playing the game we all love.

“We would like to start our advertising and social media networks earlier this year, around April when the winter football season begins to encourage and engage with many more participants to come and try the fun and social aspects of Summer Football.”

Running competitions on Monday and Wednesday evenings catering for ages ranging from Under 6’s right through to Under 18’s, the club have two courts operating on synthetic futsal sized fields from 4:30pm till 6:30pm.

Using the format of 6 v 6, the club run U8, U10. U11, U13 as well as girls mixed teams.
