In only their third season of existence, Blacktown District Soccer Football Association side Ropes Crossing Strikers FC is making huge leaps in terms of connecting with the local community and talented players from the area.

The Blacktown District Soccer Football Association side has announced a key partnership with local school, Ropes Crossing Public School.

In what is a first for the Blacktown area, the partnership sees a multi-facet approach which will help get all kids active, plus reduce the cost of sport for the schools sports teams and talented sports people.

The club’s Premier League players and coaches will attend the school to hold football clinics. These clinics will be aimed to promote an active lifestyle for all children and teach students the basic skills of football and promote teamwork.

Ropes Crossing Strikers will go a step further in their collaboration with the school, offering a generous $1000 donation toward school sport buses, along with a $500 scholarship program that the school can distribute to it’s talented sports people to help subsidise the cost of the chosen student’s sport.

Strikers Treasurer Adam Hartas and the club’s committee see the initiative as not only a way the club will grow but also the promotion of positive and active lifestyle for kids.

“All of these initiatives are seen as important steps towards promoting an active lifestyle and increasing participation numbers at the club for boys and girls in all levels.

“On top of our annual Community Carnival, we see this as another way that our growing club can give back to the local community.”
