Northern Suburbs FA Opening a Pararoos Development Centre
Northern Suburbs Football Association, in partnership with Football NSW will be launching Australia’s first ‘Pararoos Development Centre’ to provide football development training to children and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury and Symptoms relating to Stroke.
The program will run one Sunday each month throughout 2018 for players aged 5 years old and above in Northern Suburbs Football Association. The program will kick off at Valentine Sports Park on the 4th of March when the Pararoos have their training camp in the lead up to the Asia-Oceania Championships in Iran. This will give children the chance to watch and meet their idols from the Pararoos.
Due to the recent success of the Pararoos at the world championships in Argentina, NSFA and FNSW are committed to growing our grassroots player pool and providing professional coaching to all interested players.
Northern Suburbs Football Association’s Community Football Manager, Ed Ferguson is extremely excited for the program to begin in March.
“After the recent success of our boys at the world championships we wanted to play our part in ensuring that future generations of players have the opportunity to represent Australia and we believe that starts with us at grassroots level providing them opportunities such as these’
“NSFA are really excited to be pioneering the development center in NSW and we hope in future years many more pop up and we can create competitions like they have in America and Ukraine”
“We are particularly excited to have girls taking part in the game….who knows, we may have a ‘Para-tilda’s’ in the making”
