Blacktown Districts Soccer Football Association continued its busy new year in Coach Education with its first ever ALDI MiniRoos Grassroots certificate held at Blacktown Football Park recently.

Over 80 keen mum and dad coaches attended with much anticipation looking for guidance and advice on how they can take on the upcoming season, which is only a matter of weeks away.

Blacktown Districts Soccer FA Coach Development Manager Brian Vella was well assisted with veteran presenters Darren Graham and Michael Hawthorne, all with strong ties to local clubs who understood the challenges all the coaches will face this year.

“We are extremely happy with the level of interest and the numbers that have attended,” Vella stated to Football NSW.

“Now we are looking to offer each club in Blacktown Association the opportunity to have one of our Presenters run workshops where and when the clubs want them.  We want them to have all the support they need”.

Football NSW Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez also attended to provide support and guidance to the presenters as they put the coaches through model sessions and processes.

“We strongly recommended every club to take up the offer, where coaches can run sessions at clubs with their own players to show how this all works in a real club environment, I know I can’t wait to run a few.”

A key message during the course was to reinforce that all coaches need to registered to receive their weekly training session from Football NSW and also to ensure that those that attended, understood that you must have a Working With Children number to have your registration approved.
