Wally Savor appointed as new St George FC coach
St George FC announced the appointment of Wally Savor to the head coaching role of the club, taking immediate control of our National Premier Leagues 2 side after Terry Palapanis moved on to the Mounties Wanderers.
Wally brings a wealth of experience to the Saints, having previously been coach of near neighbours Rockdale City Suns, fellow NPL 2 rivals Canterbury Bankstown FC, and most recently Cringila Lions in the Illawarra Premier League.
The ex-Socceroo, with 23 full international caps, and 38 Australian appearances in total to his name, was famously a member of the Australian team which defeated Argentina 4-1 in the 1988 Bicentennial Gold Cup tournament, while Wally was also a member of the Socceroos team which participated in the World Cup Qualifiers for Italia 90, narrowly being eliminated by Israel. Wally was also a long-time player with Sydney Croatia/United in the NSL years.
After an exceptional start to the season, the Saints welcome Wally to the club, as they look to continue to strive for a successful 2018 year.
