Forty coaches attended an ALDI MiniRoos Coaching Certificate course last Saturday coinciding with the start of the football season at Orange.

Each coach, the majority of which were entering coaching for the first time, were greeted with Orange’s famous brisk weather.

Football NSW’s Coach Development Manager Andrew Fearnley along with Glenn Stedman facilitated the course and was pleased with both the turnout of numbers as well as the involvement of the coaches.

“It shows the importance of these types of courses to assist the parent coaches who want to assist in making their sessions both enjoyable and able to help players develop their skills,” said Fearnley.

“It was a really positive group and their enthusiasm was quite notable.

“Hopefully we have helped the coaches with some foundations for their sessions and we look forward to following up with them further during the 2018 season.”

After the coaching course, the coaches and teams all kicked off their 2018 season.

All players in the Under 6’s received balls as part of the ALDI MiniRoos program.
