Ahmad Elrich returns home
Former Parramatta FC junior, Ahmad Elrich has returned to his junior club to spear head the clubs National Premier Leagues 2 NSW Men’s campaign.
After a successful professional career which has included 17 Socceroo caps and over 150 professional matches in the English Premier League, A-League and Asia, Elrich will wear the number 21 jersey in the famous Parramatta FC colors.
“I was born just down the road from Melita Stadium and I am looking forward to walking out of the home dressing room again at this famous football field,” said Elrich after signing with the club.
“As a Parramatta FC junior I always hoped to play again for the club and this opportunity was too good to pass up.
“Being able to play again with Jason Trifiro, work with coach Leo Carle and this great squad of players really excites me”, Elrich added.
Ahmad Elrich will make his Parramatta FC return this Sunday at 7pm at Melita Stadium in the NPL2 clash with the North Shore Mariners.
While the club also secured the signings of three attacking weapons to the first-grade squad for the 2018 season and beyond with Zak Elrich, Yayha Elhindi and Huss Jasli joining the club.
First grade Leo Carle was excited about his latest recruits.
“Bringing players to the team like Zak, Yayha and Huss highlights the direction this club is headed. “These guys are some of the best talent in the league and to have them representing our club will bring plenty of enjoyment to our fans in coming weeks”.
These three new signings will add to the high-quality roster the Parramatta FC are forming for the remaining 2018 season and beyond.
“The club has proven representatives in the squad with Jason Trifiro and Ahmad Elrich as well as some of the best young talent in Matthew Lecce and captain Raimond Coletta”, added Carle.
“While the club has seen some challenges in the past few years, there are not many other NPL clubs that can boast the quality roster we are assembling”.
In announcing these key signing, Carle also added that “the fact that these men were Parramatta juniors, or came up through the local Granville Association, helps to highlight the pathway programme that Parramatta FC offers as we continue to invest in player development.”
