Fairfield Hotspurs Mini World Cup Soccer Gala Day

file-1-1

World Cup fever took over Prospect View Park on the weekend, as the Fairfield Hotspurs took to the pitch in the aid of raising money for the Westmead Children’s Hospital; a organisation close to the football club’s heart.

The Southern Districts Soccer Football Association Club had an abundance ALDI MiniRoos teams aged from U6’s to U12’s participate in the day’s festivities, all with a World Cup twist.

The day also featured visits from the Western Sydney Wanderers and their Dribble Zone, as well as Football NSW Game Development Officer Kevin Amaya, with prizes and giveaways for participants.

Kevin praised the club for the initiative shown in organising the day, as well as the amount of individuals who were willing to help on the day all for a wonderful cause.

“It’s great to see how football can bring people together, especially in times of hardship. The Fairfield Hotspurs have done a tremendous job hosting the event, and so too have the Western Sydney Wanderers FC & Southern Districts Soccer Football Association in supporting this event.”

The club was also thrilled with the outcome of the day, and extremely thankful to all those involved.

“A huge thank you to all our volunteers, teams that entered, coaches & parents, family & friends and everyone that donated money for our World Cup Mini Soccer Gala Day to support the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. So far we have raised well above our original target of $5000.”

The club will also be hosting a silent auction beginning on the 29th of June, and will run for a few weeks with all proceeding going to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead

We still have our Silent Auction running until 29th June and when completed, along with any other donations in the next few weeks, we will announce the total raised and hand
