Football NSW aid Goalkeeper Courses and Workshops in Bankstown
Football NSW have been busily promoting Goalkeeper courses and workshops across NSW thanks to the help of former Socceroo custodian Jim Fraser with Bankstown District Amateur Football Association the latest area hit with keeper fever.
Bankstown District Amateur Football Association Community Development Officer Joshua Barrett, a former shotstopper himself, was full of praise of the event.
“This was a fantastic night for coach education in BDAFA with the first ever goalkeeping course to be run by our association.
“To have a legend like Jim Fraser conduct these courses as well as giving his knowledge and experience to our local coaches was indeed priceless.
“BDAFA again would like to thank Jim and Oscar Gonzalez from Football NSW for making themselves available to run a course like this and I have no doubt this course will become a yearly event in our association.
“Special mention must go to our Bankstown United Goalkeepers who assisted in the running of the course on the night.
“I now have a couple of young keepers in my sights that could help with the future roll-out of Goalkeeper support programs.”
Gonzalez was delighted with Bankstown District Amateur Football Association approach as well as its push to further develop goalkeepers within the area.
“I am ecstatic that BSDAFA have now offered this event and we have identified Joshua as a mentor to work with Jim with the short term goal of having Joshua assist in presenting these in 2019.”
