Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association side Inter Lions have been crowned 2018 Cottam Cup Champions after defeating the Granville Kewpies 1-0 at Melita Stadium on Sunday 8th of July in front of a bumper crowed.

Inter broke a Cottam Cup record becoming the first team outside of the Granville & District Soccer Football Association area in its 101-year history to clinch the historic trophy.

In what was a cagey but thrilling affair between two evenly matched sides, it took a piece of individual brilliance from Inter’s Jeremy Joseph who hit a peach of shot from 25 metres out that sent the Lion’s fans into raptures, sending the Cup to the Inner West.

Along with the historical trophy, the club also picked up a cool five thousand dollars for their efforts.
