Eight New South Welshman named in Pararoos squad for Tri-Nation International Challenge
As many as 8 NSW born players have been selected in Pararoos Head Coach Kai Lammert’s 14-player squad for the 2018 Tri-Nations International Challenge Matches which will be played in San Diego, USA from 18-21 July 2018.
The likes of players such as Ben Atkins, Daniel Campbell, Taj Lynch, Connor Marsh, Augustine Murphy, Christopher Pyne, Benjamin Roche and Benjamin Sutton will all don the Green and Gold jersey in the U.S.
Lammert is looking forward to the tournament which form an integral part of the Pararoos preparations for the 2018 IFCPF Asia-Oceania Championships which will be played at Kish Island, Iran in November later this year.
“This tournament will give us vital matches and important exposure to international football for our new players, said Lammert.
“We had to make some changes due to classification changes earlier in the year so we will see a mixture of young new faces and experienced campaigners in the squad.”
“This will be a great test for us with USA who are ranked 4th in the world and Canada who are 10th. Our long term goal is to be back in the top 10, so these games are vital for our preparation to achieve this goal.
“We had a very successful World-championship last year, but with the classification changes it’s a new era in CP (Cerebal Palsy) Football and we are looking forward to the new challenge,” concluded Lammert.
The Pararoos assemble in Sydney on Friday 13 July and will then depart for USA on Saturday 14 July.
