Namory Conde ran rampant as Glenmore Park FC overcame Enfield Rovers SC 4-0 in the Frank Broughton Cup at the State Cup on Sunday morning, scoring a hattrick and setting up another in a stunning performance at Valentine Sports Park.

Enfield started well as Adam Elchab made a solid run down the right flank, but the Glenmore Park backline stood strong to shut the threat down before it could worry the goalkeeper.

Conde carried the ball upfield with a great run past an Enfield defender before unleashing a good shot at goal which the ‘keeper did well to save, yet he could do little about the attack that followed.

Conde again took possession in in midfield and drove forward with purpose, taking the ball onto his left before striking his shot under the goalkeeper and inside the far post, giving Glenmore Park a deserved lead after just eight minutes.

Goalscorer turned provider five minutes later, as Conde dragged a shot across goal only for teammate Joshua Mifsud to follow in and finish, doubling Glenmore Park’s advantage and giving Enfield Rovers all kinds of concerns – how to handle Conde chief amongst them.

The most dangerous player on the pitch had his second just moments after laying on the assist for Mifsud; taking down a bouncing ball at the top of the box before somehow scrambling a shot past the onrushing goalkeeper.

The halftime break couldn’t come soon enough for Enfield, though they might have pulled one back had Daniel McMahon’s freekick gone either side of the Glenmore goalkeeper rather than straight into his hands.

Not content to simply sit on their lead, Glenmore worked their way forward almost immediately after coming out for the second half and had the ball in the back of the net just a minute after the restart. The goalscorer’s name was little surprise to anyone watching: rounding the goalkeeper to stroke the ball into any empty net, Conde completed his hattrick in style.

Cameron Armstrong proved a real threat in the closing stages of an absorbing match, going close twice after clever work from Conde and Mifsud to set him up.

Mifsud might’ve had a second too, nearly latching onto the end of a Levi Green freekick but not quite getting the desired contact, before missing a one-on-one shortly after. Ultimately it wouldn’t matter; Glenmore Park running out comfortable winners over a spirited Enfield Rovers outfit.
