SDSFA raises $5000 for Fairfield Hospital

Southern Districts Soccer Football Association continued its great work in assisting with its local community by presenting Fairfield Hospital with a cheque for $5,000 to head of Paediatrics Dr Laurence McCleary.

Dr McCleary was overwhelmed with the donation that will be used to buy much needed medical equipment for the hospital.

This comes off the back of the Association providing underprivileged kids with football gear and donating football equipment to the local schools within the football mad area.

SDSFA’s Technical Director Rod Galic was the brains behind the idea to raise money for the local hospital’s neonatal ward which was immediately accepted by the SDSFA board led by President Andy Favaloro and Association Secretary Gino Marra.

“Fundraising was done through a variety of ways which included auctioning off generously donated Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers home kits as the Association had a mobile incubator from the local Fairfield Hospital where we used it for raffles and donations during home matches via bucket collections,” said Galic.

“Next year, SDSFA will be looking towards raising money and donating to the local Liverpool Hospital – well done to all involved.”
