Medal Honors For Our State Powerchair Team At National Championships

The New South Wales Powerchair team made the trip North late September, to compete in this years four day long battle at the National Tournament.

The Australian Powerchair Football National Championshipship took place from the 25th – 29th of September, with this years tournament being hosted in Queensland at Brisbane State High School.

During the duration of the competition the NSW side competed in seven matches, which eventually led the side a place within this years grand final against the host state side. Unfortunately it would be Queensland who took the National honors, defeating NSW 4-3 in the final fixture of the competition.

Over the years Powerchair Football has become increasingly popular within the inclusion space for athletes, but also across a broader market with outside interest reaching new heights. The growth of the sport across a National level as allowed the NSW Powerchair Football Assoication to organised for a development squad competition, to be held in Canberra against their development side.

The friendly fixture will help with preparation in the lead up to the 2021 FIPFA World Cup which will be held in Sydney
