Heading into the third week of the SELECT Futsal Premier League 2 Open Mens competition,  three sides are yet to taste defeat in the form of the SD Raiders, Sydney City Eagles and Phoenix Futsal Club.

Two of those go head to head as another weekend of fantastic futsal fixtures is headlined by Boomerangs FS vs Sydney Futsal Club as the fixture of the week.

Fixture of the Week: Sydney Futsal Club vs Boomerangs FS, Saturday 13 October, 7:30pm, National Centre of Indigenous Excellence

Boomerangs FS bounced back into form, now head to Redfern, taking on the winless Sydney Futsal Club in the night cap of the third round of the SELECT Futsal Premier League 2 Open Mens competition.

It was a contrast of fortunes for the two sides headed into this clash. Boomerangs had their shooting boots on as they plundered eight goals in the first half, in a 9-2 result against South Coast whilst Sydney Futsal Club fell to a second defeat, 4-1 against Sydney City Eagles.

The Boomerangs were clinical in their demolition of the Taipans, they scored from four of their first six shots in a dominant first half that Michael Rinaudo and Nicholas Rathjen both starred. Despite their huge showing, their coaching staff were disappointed in not going on with the job in the second half.

Back at home, Sydney Futsal Club want to put a torrid opening fortnight behind them. They have conceded 13 goals with a modest return of four themselves. Against the high-powered Boomerangs offence, they need the experience in their squad to step up and turnover one of the heavyweights of the competition.

SD Raiders Futsal vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 13 October, 5:10pm, Fairfield Youth & Leisure Centre

In the battle between two of the undefeated sides, SD Raiders Futsal welcome Sydney City Eagles to Fairfield Youth & Leisure Centre in the weekend’s twilight kick-off.

Both sides come into this clash in fine fettle. SD Raiders fired five past West City Crusaders to make it 14 goals in two games in their new surroundings while Sydney City Eagles dispatched Sydney Futsal Club 4-1.

SD Raiders showed the depths of their attacking arsenal with five different scorers in their latest success. Adrian Monge and Luis Ferreira alongside the return of Patrick Antelmi from suspension makes them an even more dangerous opponent against the Eagles.

For the Eagles, the return of some of their senior members including Peter Pelekanos, who scored last weekend, has put the Sydney City side right at the top of the contenders, especially if they keep up their goalscoring form.

A clash between top two of the young SELECT Futsal Premier League 2 competition, it promises to deliver goals, drama and 50 minutes of breathless action.

West City Crusaders vs Raiders Futsal, Saturday 13 October, 5:50pm, Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium

Two sides still searching for their first win, West City Crusaders have their first home fixture, Raiders Futsal Club the visitors to Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium on Saturday evening.

It was a case of close but not close enough, for both teams last weekend. West City Crusaders fell short in a remarkable comeback, 5-4 against SD Raiders. For Raiders Fustal Club, their table position resembles a binary code, after a 1-nil loss to Phoenix Futsal Club.

West City Crusaders has showed a strong spirit in their two games thus far, only losing by the odd goal. They will look towards this weekend though, as a chance to get off their duck egg at home, against one of the sides around them.

The Raiders will be disappointed in their return across the first two contests. A single point in almost two hours of action won’t please a side, that aimed high in pre-season. With quality like Hassan Jalloh and Tomas Medimurac in their squad, they can produce a result in a tough contest on Saturday evening.

South Coast Taipans vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 13 October, 5:40pm, UOW Sports Hub

Phoenix Futsal Club are the next side to make the trip to the south coast, as they head to UOW Sports Hub taking on a chastened South Coast Taipans on Saturday.

The Taipans were put to the sword in a 9-2 thrashing last weekend, as they still find their feet in the SELECT Futsal Premier League 2 competition. One bright spot has been the form of Matthew Mazevski, three goals in his two games makes him one of the key men for Phoenix to stop.

The visitors round out the group of three undefeated sides after the first fortnight. A 1-nil success off the back of a Todd Nelson goal backed up their 3-2 opening day victory, as they take on the bottom side, they will look to remain undefeated headed out of the weekend.
