TAFE NSW Summer Football Thriving in the Eastern Suburbs

ESFA-Summer-Football

Football NSW Summer Football competitions offer an exciting opportunity for players to continue their footballing experience throughout the year, whilst providing new participants an opportunity play the world game; and with the summer months upon us, few could think anything better than a match under the stars at Sydney’s’ fantastic Moore Park Synthetic facility.

This certainly seems to be the case for summer social players in the Eastern suburbs as summer football registrations continue to climb with ESFA’s third season facilitating the ever-popular format.

In 2018 Eastern Suburbs Football Association focused on senior competitions within the summer period offering Men’s, Women’s and Mixed competitions.

Since focusing on the senior components of the summer competition, the association have experienced an overwhelming response from their members.

“We’ve more than doubled our participation since the first season.” ESFA General Manager, Aaron Dibdin

The increase in numbers has been largely due to the Women’s competition which has seen 12% growth from last season. This is symbolic of ESFA’s winter competitions which are stronger than ever, epitomised by Dunbar Rovers claiming the recent Football NSW Champion of Champions All Age Women final.

Football NSW Member Services Manager Matt Rippon, is immensely impressed with the results which associations such as ESFA have been able to produce this year.

“It’s great to see the format thriving across Sydney, and ESFA are certainly doing an amazing job facilitating the growth and such great competition at a premier facility in the city”
