SELECT Futsal Premier League – Round 5 Open Women’s Preview
The 2018-19 SELECT Futsal Premier League round 5 this Saturday has Mountain Majik host Mascot Vipers at Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium (3.10pm), Inner West Magic play Enfield Allstars at Valentine Sports Park (5.20pm), UTS Northside face Dural Warriors at PCYC Dee Why (6.20pm), and Eastern Suburbs Hakoah meet Campbelltown Quake at All Sorts Indoor Sports centre (7.50pm).
Magic and Majik remain joint-first on 10 competition points as UTS (9) crept closer and fourth-placed Easts (6) bridged a gap to bottom-four Campbelltown (4), Dural (4), Mascot (2) and Enfield (0).
Mountain Majik vs Mascot Vipers
Joint-first Mountain Majik welcome Mascot Vipers to Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium this Saturday afternoon in what could be a whitewash.
The Mountaineers have enjoyed a great start to the summer with three wins consolidated by a gallant 2-2 with heavy favourites Inner West last weekend.
Majik haven’t been shy in front of goal either, netting 17 times led by nine-goal hero Ashlie Crofts, and they face a Mascot side that’s leaked 15 goals so far.
Vipers come into the match on the back of draws with Campbelltown and Dural
Inner West Magic vs Enfield Allstars
It’s top versus bottom when highflying Inner West Magic meet strugglers Enfield Allstars at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday evening.
Enfield are without a point after conceding 17 goals already, and they face a huge task trying to break down a Magic defence that’s leaked just three goals in the same timeframe.
You wouldn’t back against Inner West, but this is one of the best derbies going around.
UTS Northside vs Dural Warriors
This is a reverse situation of the men’s game as UTS Northside face Dural Warriors at PCYC Dee Why on Saturday evening.
The hosts have built a solid opening to their summer, one point off the lead despite a sole loss to ladder-leaders Inner West, but Northside will still have to be on their toes against a Dural side that’s been unusually sluggish by their own standards.
Warriors, reputed for their goalscoring nature, have accumulated a measly four goals in four rounds – they must be busting to break the floodgates!
Eastern Suburbs Hakoah vs Campbelltown Quake
What a wonderful reunion for Eastern Suburbs Hakoah and Campbelltown Quake at All Sorts Indoor Sports centre this Saturday night!
Fourth and fifth on the ladder it only seems like yesterday when Campbelltown edged Easts to the 2016/17 Premier League 2 premiership, Quake winning their last five games to hold out Hakoah (two wins in their last five games) by four points.
Campbelltown then went on to beat Easts 4-2 in the major semi-final and would eventually lift the championship trophy with a 3-1 win over Raiders.
Both sides have scored freely this summer, none more so that Hakoah import Tamires Souza who leads the scorers chart with an impressive 10 goals in four starts, but defence has been a worry – a combined goal concession of 26 goals.
