2019 Football NSW Competitions Update

s

At the recent Football NSW Board Meeting held on Wednesday 14th of November, a number of competition agenda items were discussed with outcomes to the Non-Compliance with the 2019 Application Process, State League Men’s and Girls’ Conference League.

Non-Compliance with the 2019 Application Process

  • As previously communicated, a number of Clubs that applied for participation in the Competitions were not fully complaint with the 2019 Application Process by the stipulated deadlines. As a result, the prescribed sanctions, communicated to Clubs in advance, were applied.
Those sanctions ranged from fines to the loss of Club Championship points.
  • A number of those clubs remained non-complaint at the time the Leagues were declared on 26 September 2018 and were granted conditional entry into the Competitions subject to becoming fully compliant by 5.00pm on Wednesday, 31 October 2018.
We advise that those clubs did become fully compliant by the deadline and their entry into the Competitions is now confirmed.
  • A number of the Clubs that were subjected to a loss of Club Championship points due to their noncompliance requested that Football NSW reconsider the sanctions imposed.
Football NSW agreed to allow clubs that had been issued with a points deduction to provide written submissions for the consideration of the Football NSW Board.
  • A number of clubs availed themselves of this opportunity and lodged written submissions with Football NSW. At its November meeting, and after giving each Club’s submission due consideration, the Board resolved to confirm the original sanctions imposed against those Clubs.
Therefore, the original sanctions imposed on those Clubs remain in place.

State League Men’s

  • Football NSW recently received a request from Wagga City Wanderers FC to withdraw from the 2019 Football NSW State League Men’s competition and grant the club permission to apply to play in Capital Football’s Men’s NPL Competitions in 2019.
  • At its November meeting, the Board approved Wagga City Wanderers FC’s request.
  • Capital Football has today advised that the club has been accepted into its competitions for 2019.
  • As a result, the 2019 Football NSW State League Men’s competition will now be made up of 11 teams and there will therefore be a bye.

Girls’ Conference League

  • After the Leagues were declared on 26 September 2018, a position became vacant due to a club withdrawing from the 2019 Girls’ Conference League.
  • Football NSW sought expressions of interest from Clubs prepared to fill the position created by the withdrawal of the Club.
  • Football NSW received expressions of interest from a number of Clubs and, after careful consideration, the Board resolved to admit Granville Rage FC to the 2019 Girls’ Conference League
