Rest of Round 13 Results

Onto the completed fixtures, Boomerangs FS flexed their muscles in a 7-1 victory against third placed Phoenix Futsal Club, down at AIS Training Halls on Saturday afternoon. Grace Basser-Silk led the way once again for the ‘rangs, with her brace. Rachael Corbett, Eleanor Raymond, Madeleine Perceval and Ellen Brown all chipped in with a goal in a performance that might strike a psychological blow before the two may tangle in the finals in a fortnight.

It’s always coming sevens, and Raiders FC duly obliged with a 7-1 result of their own, in the latest kick-off of the round, against Sydney Futsal Club at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence. In a low-scoring first half, Hannah Voloder provided the only goal for Raiders FC as they took their slender advantage into the break. They started the second half with a bang as Vanessa Ciabatti and Cassidy Chidgey both scored in the first five minutes then the onslaught started with Sophia Hamilton and Ashleigh Krenich netted before Ciabatti and Voloder completed braces on a wonderful day of futsal for the visitors. Rochelle Johnson gave Sydney Futsal Club some consolation with her late goal to keep them off the duck egg.

The top four looks all wrapped up in a neat bow, as South Coast Taipans claimed fourth spot, in a come from behind, 3-2 victory against SD Raiders FC, at UOW Sports Hub on Saturday afternoon. In a direct play-off for fourth spot, SD Raiders FC got themselves off to the perfect start – they fired home twice in the first half – and they looked set for fourth at 2-nil. Taipans showed their heart and grit in the second half where they pulled off a stunning comeback, the goals came through Cayla Constable, Elise Battin and Kya Stewart as the Taipans edged out SD Raiders FC to the final spot in the top four.
