Midweek football will grace the football pitches at Valentine Sports Park as the 2019 TAFE NSW Waratah Cup Elimination Final between the Mount Druitt Town Rangers v Manly United takes centre stage on Wednesday 19th June at 7:30pm.

After winning promotion in the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s top tier competition Aidan Desmond’s men have slowly found their feet in the big league and will be a tough unit to break with the likes of new recruit Mirjan Pavlovic along with keeper Carlos Saliadarre, Uruguayan midfield genius Fabricio Fernandes and key attacker Toufic Alameddine ready to fire.

Manly themselves won’t be taking this match lightly, after going close in winning the Cup in 2014 and 2016, Paul Dee is hoping that Brendan Cholakian, Adam Parkhouse, Dylan Mitchell and defender Travis Oughtred put in the hard shifts in getting a much needed victory for the Northern Beaches outfit.

Both teams have met each other twice already this season the NPL NSW Men’s competition with their round 3 match ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw while their recent round 14 match saw the Rangers come up trumps with a 2-1 victory.

The winner of this tie will take on the Marconi Stallions in the TAFE NSW Waratah Cup Semi Finals on Wednesday 3rd July with the other tie on the same evening seeing Sydney United 58 host St George FC.

The Final of the Cup will be played on Sunday 14th July with the venue to be announced shortly .

The historic TAFE NSW Waratah Cup is known for being one of the most prestigious Football NSW knockout competitions ever since it made its debut in 1991 and continues to go from strength to strength as clubs push for winning their first piece of silverware for 2019.
