Hills Football and Kellyville United host inaugural ALDI MiniRoos Gala Day

Mini Gala Day 2019

It was a memorable day for Hills Football as family and friends gathered on Sunday 11th August to support their Under 6’s and 7’s at the association’s inaugural ALDI MiniRoos Gala Day.

Caddies Creek Reserve, the home of Kellyville United Football Club and the area’s latest sports complex, played host to accommodate the area’s ever-growing football community.

Over 300 kids, across 38 participating teams enjoyed the free football festivities.

This included 3 games (each of 2 x 10 minute halves) with 1 match played on either of the ALDI MiniRoos inflatable ‘Street Football’ fields provided by Hills Football and Football NSW respectively.

Hills Football’s Game Development Manager, Alisa McDonald was pleased with how the day unfolded.

“The event was a great success despite the cold and windy conditions.

“Playing against teams from other clubs, which they don’t normally have the chance to do. Each participant showcased skills learned during the football season, great team work and sportsmanship.”

Football NSW’s Game Development Officers, Cam Whitton, Corey Butcher and Eraga Magotti provided a helping hand on the day and complemented the event with an extra ALDI MiniRoos dartboard football activation.

Hills Football also supplied their own ALDI MiniRoos shooting target inflatable accompanied by the Western Sydney Wanderers’ standalone ‘Dribble Zone’ activation.

Between the football mania, kids were seen chasing, holding hands and posing for photos with Buzzy Bee, the IMB Bank mascot.

The other highlights consisted of kids jumping castles, face painting, giveaways, the traditional football weekend BBQ and of course, the enthusiastic club volunteers.

“At the conclusion, players received a goodie bag to take home which included a voucher to be used for registration in Hills Football’s upcoming 2019 summer football comp or next year’s winter competition”, McDonald concluded.
