It was a memorable season for Football Wagga Wagga’s Community FC program which proved to be a massive hit within the area as they played host to the final session on Saturday 31st of August at the Duke of Kent Oval.

Being run and facilitated exclusively by Football Wagga Wagga’s Liam Dedini, the program also involved the Multicultural Council of the region, the Red Cross and was assisted by local coaches from the area.

Over sixty players formed part of this successful program held at the Duke of Kent Oval in Wagga Wagga all with a vision to transition to various Football Wagga Wagga clubs for the 2020 winter football season.

Dedini was proud on how receptive the players, coaches and community were in what was a well- run program.

“Football Wagga Wagga was pleased to run its first Community FC program at Duke of Kent Oval for the past 3 months.

“With a very large multicultural community the program was always going to be a great success.

“Football Wagga Wagga has been supporting the Yazidi community for the past two years running small sessions for them to keep them included in the community.

“The introduction of the Community FC program saw the sessions with the Yazidi community expand each week.

“Thanks to our sponsors Wagga Motors, Multicultural Council Wagga and Wagga Motors, each player and their families enjoyed a meal together and walked away with a new water bottle and football to continue their enjoyment of the game.”
