Campbelltown Quake v Mountain Majik

Campbelltown Quake welcome Mountain Majik to Minto Sports Stadium for a Saturday-afternoon fry-up.

Both sides finished up on the round-one losing ledger after Boomerangs bounced Campbelltown 4-1 and Hakoah out-hustled Mountain 2-zip, so it makes for an interesting match-up this weekend.

Quake have beaten Majik in seven of their 10 meetings with current Campbelltown coach Mark Symington the star of the show boasting 11 fixture goals, although this includes a rowdy five-goal haul back in 2014.

Boomerangs FS v Inner West Magic

Boomerangs FS face the wrath of Inner West Magic when they meet at the AIS Training Halls on Saturday evening.

Magic were stung by their old foes Vipers 6-3 in last weekend’s opening round and will be full of fire and brimstone as they look to get this summer’s campaign back on track following last season’s late capitulation.

But they face a Boomerangs outfit full of zing after they rocked Campbelltown 4-1 on the weekend to get their crusade off to a dream start.

The Territorians have been a thorn in Inner West’s side for eight years as Magic cling to a 4-3 overall winning edge (one draw), but the Sydneysiders do have fond memories of their last trip down the highway when they beat Boomerangs in a 2-1 thriller in their only meeting at the Training Halls back in January 2017.

Eastern Subs Hakoah v UTS Northside

Eastern Suburbs Hakoah versus UTS Northside at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday evening promises to be an absorbing fixture.

Both sides come off excellent round one wins, Hakoah rocked last season’s runner-up Mountain Majik 2-0 while UTS pumped defending champions Enfield 5-2 to set up an early top-of-the-table clash.

Northside won both of last summer’s debut encounters but didn’t have their own way against Easts, prevailing 4-2 in the first meeting and registering a tight 2-1 victory in the return bout at All Sorts.

Mascot Vipers Enfield Allstars

Mascot Vipers versus Enfield Allstars at Morris Iemma Indoor Centre on Saturday night sure stacks up as the most anticipated match of the round.

Mascot were massively impressive in their 6-3 demolition of Inner West on the weekend, while Enfield also shocked in their 2-5 upset loss to Northside to start the champions on the back foot in their first title defence.

Looking at the books you’d be forgiven for writing Vipers off before they hit the court as Allstars hold a big stick over their heads with a 75% success rate (winning 12 of 16 meetings) and Shervin Adeli scoring a mesmerising 17 fixture goals.

But Mascot’s off-season recruitment, rejuvenation and rising confidence will have them primed for another big scalp, and they won’t fear the history much as the last seven runs against Enfield have all be decided by two goals or less.
