Mountain Majik v Boomerangs FS

There’s plenty on the line when Mountain Majik meet Boomerangs FS at Blacktown Leisure Centre on Saturday afternoon.

A loser in this match risks becoming detached from the playoff race and both sides have endured sluggish starts to summer – Majik have two draws while the Territorians boast a win and draw to leave little room between them.

Mountain might lead the head-count 3-1 but they haven’t tasted overall success in six runs, and Boomerangs will be buoyed by last weekend’s victorious journey to the big smoke that finally ended a road-trip nightmare.

UTS Northside v Inner West Magic

UTS Northside face a huge task in trying to stop an Inner West Magic juggernaut at PCYC Dee Why on Saturday afternoon.

Four straight Magic wins have them on top-spot Mascot’s bumper, a smoking plus-16 goal-difference and 31 goals in the glovebox, their stars firing on all pistons, plus an 11-match unbeaten road-run in the boot.

UTS have scored 13 goals spread across seven players in five outings and boast a better defensive record than their opponents conceding just 11 goals to show true on-court grit, but they will be challenging history this weekend.

Incredibly Northside have never defeated Inner West in 14 premier league run-ins across the past five summers (two draws); this includes being stopped in the finals a gut-wrenching four times (once by penalty shootout) – and why not throw some salt on it with a heart-stopping 2-1 2018 Futsal Cup grand final loss to Magic as well.

If UTS can take any solace the last three contests have been one-goal affairs.

Eastern Suburbs Hakoah v Enfield Allstars

Eastern Suburbs Hakoah won’t take bottom-side Enfield Allstars easy at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday evening.

While Enfield are floundering with five straight defeats, Easts have their own wobblies going on with one win from a frustrating opening five rounds – despite this they’re just two points off fourth-placed UTS Northside.

Allstars are fighting hard but five goals in five runs is a tough way to be competitive; having said that they caused all sorts of headaches for Hakoah last year, pushing them all the way in a 5-3 loss before claiming an unlikely 0-0 draw in the return bout.

Mascot Vipers v Campbelltown Quake

It’s top-of-the-table Saturday-night billing for Mascot Vipers and Campbelltown Quake at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre.

Mascot are in scintillating form with five straight wins and danger trio Mariel Hecher, Marcella Santos and Natasha Aitken banging them in from everywhere.

There are concerns with Santos picking up a nasty injury against Hakoah, but Campbelltown will be focused on the task at hand following last week’s slip-up against Inner West.

Quake hold a slender 7-5 recent winning edge with eight games decided by two goals or less. Bring it!
