Goals galore as National Indigenous Football Championships soar
Goals goals and more goals were on the menu at the South Nowra Football Complex as day three of the 2019 National Indigenous Football Championships rolled into overdrive on Friday.
The Under 14 boys and girls category saw two Champions declared as Djuwin Waimburra defeated the Dolphins 5-2 to claim the female category while for the males, the Newcastle All Stars A’s proved too strong for Roseby Park Saltwater Gatherers as they steamrolled to an 8-0 victory.
It was a titanic battle in both the 14’s age groups as eight boys teams and seven girls teams challenged for a piece of silverware as league matches commenced on Thursday.
In the All Age Men and Women’s categories, semi-finalists were announced with a winner set to be crowned on Saturday as the quarter-finals were on the main stage on Friday.
